A collection of my photos taken all over the planet.

The above image was taken on Christmas day back in 2018 at Balmoral Beach near my home in Sydney and is a composite of four shots merged using Photoshop.
All the images in these galleries have been taken with various cameras and phones, ranging from various old 35mm film cameras to my latest Nikon D850 DSLR and phones, including various Samsung phones ranging from the ancient Galaxy S6 all the way through to the latest Galaxy S24 Ultra.
For more information on the photography gear I use, have a look at this page.
Something which I am trying is HDR, or High Dynamic Range, shooting, which is where multiple shots taken at different exposures, are combined into a single shot. For more on this, check out this tutorial.
One last thing: none of the shots in these galleries can be used commercially without written permission. You can ask me via the martian engineer AT gmail dot com.
Galleries
Architecture and Landscape. Since I first started getting interested in photography back in the 1970s, my main areas of interest have been landscapes and architecture. This gallery includes shots taken in various parts of Asia and Oceania. [view]
Macro Shots. Since I finally talked myself into it and bought a good microscope and camera adapter for my electronics work, I decided it would be an ideal time to play around with macro photography. This gallery is the result. [view]
Orchids. On my Singapore trip back in April 2023, on a stormy day, I visited the Botanical Gardens, which is also home to the National Orchids Gardens, the result is this gallery. And yes, I will add Australian Orchids when time allows. [view]
Street art. After one of my trips to Singapore, where I stumbled upon some excellent street art, I started taking photos and ended up totally hooked. Also included here are others I found in different parts of the planet. [view]
Street signs. Another new interest for me: during one of my Singapore trips, I stumbled upon some interesting street signs that show the lighter side of things, and this gallery is the result. I am planning to add some shots from Hong Kong when time allows. [view]
Wildlife. This being Australia, there are many good walks to do, and while on these, I come across some of the local wildlife; this gallery is the result of these encounters and some others from overseas trips; currently, it contains birds and water dragons. [view]
Wild Weather. This gallery came about after my August 2023 visit to Hong Kong, which almost turned into Hong Kong in the Rain, which followed Christmas in Singapore in the middle of the monsoon, just think how wet that was. [view]
