The shots in this gallery resulted from nothing more than luck, as during a walk on a warm summer day, I came across a whole flock foraging under the trees in St Leonards Park, and for once, not a single dog walker around to scare the birds.

I have a fascinating history with these birds, as at one place I used to rent, they would land on my bedroom window sill and just screech, usually at some horrible time around dawn. On the other side, I used to be able to hand-feed them on the balcony, so they are not all bad.
