Weather
Check out the above image, and note the stunning blue sky and brilliant sunshine. I took this image back in easter 2023 while walking along the beach road that runs the length of Sentosa Island. Do not let the blue sky fool you. Unfortunately, it's not like this all the time.
From many visits over the years, I found it's always hot and humid, no matter the time of year. What does change is the amount of rain; for example, when I visited in 2023 around easter, I had a majority of dry days with varying levels of cloud cover.
Then comes my Christmas 2023 trip, which was during the northeast monsoon season, which explains the amount of rain I experienced, which ranged from the odd shower to the full-on tropical rainstorm. ⛈️
And no, it was not a mistake to visit during the monsoon season, as I wanted to experience Singapore during the Christmas holiday, so the weather was not much of a concern. I just packed a good umbrella. ☂️
Regardless of the weather, spending time in Singapore, even with the rain, is always a pleasurable experience. There are always things to do, even in the rain; in my case, I even visited the new Bird Paradise Park in the rain.
The Singaporean government has a good website that covers the climate in detail; it's well worth a visit when you are planning your trip.
Does this mean that if you do not like the heat, you should not visit? Well, no, as just about everywhere has air conditioning, including every form of public transport I used, plus taxis, etc. It's very possible to see the sites without spending too much time out in the heat or rain. ☀️
